[More]"It was a great experience overall. The
international festival were with great works and most of them have great
production values and technically proficient. I met with other LGBT filmmakers
in the festival. Film production is more favourable as they have more funding
resources and enjoy more artistic freedom which most LGBT filmmakers in HK are
not entitled to. They can stimulate their imagination when they make LGBT
themed films as the environment offers a wider perspective instead of confining
to the direction of oppression. Also, I got ample chances to meet with international
filmmakers and I also got to stay with a host family allowing me to experience
how daily life is in the host city. The family was very friendly and
accommodating. The living pace is much more relaxed compared to Hong Kong. It
also made me feel envious of filmmakers in UK and Europe who enjoy more funding
and production resources but not limited by elitism. It was an eye opening
experience and encouraged me to broaden my views for preparing my future works.
During this trip I was inspired to make an important change to the script that
I am drafting due to the influence of other works in the festival."
