Synopsis Woody, an average salaryman, is invited to go to Broken Dream Club every Thursday by his superior Michael. The club is a social meeting held for those who suffer from depression and are unable to fulfill their dream. Led by a bewitching therapist Lily, Woody encounters a group of eccentric people, for example, a football enthusiast who lost his legs, and of course, Michael, a single dad who raised his daughter only to lose her in a car accident. Woody finds it confusing whether to take a role as an outsider or to seek for relief like everyone else. The film constantly makes use of Brechtian effect to explore the interior of each character.

Remarks shared after Festival

wider reach of audience and a well-prepared schedule comparing to other
festivals that I have attended before. I have met a well-known producer in the
festival who is interested in helping non-Taiwanese directors shoot film in
Taiwan. Maybe in the near future, I could have collaboration with her. I am
very grateful that NAE project does exist. I might not be able to go there without
this project. The flight tickets and the accommodation to Taiwan might not cost
much, but NAE gave me the chance and allowance, allowing me enjoy the trip,
feel the vibe of Taiwan and talk to the locals as much as I can."
