“The Short Film Corner is a place for filmmakers to showcase
their films and seek opportunities for sale and distribution and has drawn
thousands of entries every year. It is a wonderful opportunity for learning as
it also enables exchanges among filmmakers. I met a French film producer and a
Spanish director there. Their sharing after watching my short film made me
understand more about film in terms of production and as an art form. After
returning to Hong Kong, I received an email from the French distributor Gonella
Productions. They found my short film very interesting after watching it in
Cannes and would like to distribute it. I was grateful to their offer and I
signed a worldwide distribution agreement with them. The film is now being
distributed in different broadcasting platforms. I hope it can reach out to
audience around the world so that more people may appreciate the efforts and
talents of the cast and crew.

Attending international film festivals enable exchanges
with other filmmakers and wider opening to the world. Thanks to HONG KONG SHORT
FILM: NEW ACTION EXPRESS for the opportunity. Hope that the scheme can be
maintained and more filmmakers can benefit from these trips.”

“Montecatini International Short Film Festival is the oldest film festival
in the world. It is my great honour to be selected to join the festival.
Competing with the other outstanding works from all over the world, it is
really beyond my expectation that I could even get an award in the festival! It
made me reassure that filmmaking is an outcome of a collective effort.. [More]

Competing with the other outstanding works from all over the world, it is
really beyond my expectation that I could even get an award in the festival! It
made me reassure that filmmaking is an outcome of a collective effort. Without
the participation of my crew and cast, this film could never get such a good
result. I would like to thank all of my cast and crew once again. This trip has
also become my incentive to continue my hard work and try my best to produce
more excellent films for the audience in the future.”

“Figueira Film Art-Festival de Cinema da Figueira da Foz is the most
influential film festival in Portugal with 31 years of history. For some
reasons, it was closed in 2002 which was a pity for film lovers. Fortunately, I
was able to join this time since it has resumed 3 years ago. I could feel the
passion of the organizer. They have tried very hard to do the screenings in the
cinemas but they failed as there were not enough cinemas in downtown. I
sincerely hope that they could succeed in the coming year.”
